Great Essay
The Feminist SF blog pointed me to an essay by Pam Noles about race and speculative fiction and the Earthsea miniseries in particular. I found it incredibly interesting and even enlightening, so you should go read it. It's called "shame".
Did I include the Earthsea problem in my list of why SciFi Channel sucks? I should've.

I think it's interesting that it's been done AGAIN. Will she write about the Studio Ghibli version? Reports say it's even more 'white' than the Sci-Fi channel version was.
