Too Many Books!

So the other day, I realized I’d bought some Card Captor Sakura manga in English. Why did I do that? I had the bilingual versions of those volumes!!

Then I was digging around, looking for something to read, and found the hardcover version of a book I’d bought about 2 months ago in paperback. Still haven’t read either of those. Why did I do that?!

I also pulled out a Diana Wynne Jones book with the intention of reading it. I opened it up and started and lo and behold, it was the SAME Diana Wynne Jones book I had started to read like 1-2 weeks ago at my parents’. This one was paperback and THAT one was hardcover. Why did I get two copies?!

Since I CLEARLY need to keep better track of the books I’ve acquired and stop buying books I already have, I made myself a new rule.

I must read 50 of my own books before I can buy any more. If they’re gifts, or free, that’s okay. But I can’t buy any more. And reading library books doesn’t count in the 50.

So, I finished one yesterday. That leaves 49 more to go.

In other news, 27 more books to read by the end of the year if I’m to reach 100.

Harry Potter: Alere Flammas MUSH Sorting Tonight!

Hey, if you’re quick and you like reading information files, you still have time to create a first year student to get Sorted tonight! The Hogwarts Express arrives at 8pm Eastern and the Sorting Feast itself starts at 9.

If you just want to log in as a Guest or a new character to watch from the OOC rooms, that’s fine too.

You can create a new character at Alere Flammas at any time, not just before the Sorting. You can make a student of any year, an adult in whatever profession you choose, a house elf, a ghost, a portrait, or more.

There’s Feature characters available as well, including a number of Weasleys, Neville, Luna, Kingsley, and other cool ones. New players are more than welcome to apply for any open Feature character, with the caveat that to be a Professor, you first have to have a student character.

AF started where Goblet of Fire (book 4) left off and continued the story from there, so Harry is a happily-married Auror now, Snape is Headmaster of Hogwarts, Sirius is happily-married Minister of Magic, and none of them has managed to destroy Great Britain yet. (Snape was happily-married awhile ago, but then he killed his Death Eater wife. Sucks to be Snape.)
