Primarily

The Clintons screwed up bus routes and traffic today. Me, I had to go to work. Her campaign was going to be using space in the library, but I asked and there didn’t seem to be plans for the Clintons themselves to show up. So.. they better not have done after I left for the day!

I heard Obama in person. While he certainly knows how to speak and get people to applaud (seriously.. people know when to applaud or laugh without even hearing him finish the statement) and he definitely had talking points ready for whatever town hall questions might arise, he also said some good stuff and seemed as genuine as you can expect from someone running from President. I also kinda liked him already from appearances on Oprah, Tyra, etc. Plus I read one of his books. I certainly feel I know him better than the other candidates.

I like Edwards. Obama-Edwards or Edwards-Obama would be good. I wouldn’t /not/ vote for a ticket with Hillary just because she was there.

Kucinich has the best health care plan and the best stance on other things, but how hard is he trying? He’s in New Hampshire and all, but not coming anywhere near me, because he doesn’t have an office here.

And.. RON PAUL’S — excuse me — DOCTOR RON PAUL’S COMPUTERS NEED TO STOP CALLING HERE!

In 2011, I’m going to collect all the spam mail all the candidates send. Then the Monday before the primary, I’m going to count it. The one who sends me the least mail is going to get my vote. On the theory that they are the most green and the most money-conscious.

Ring in the New

Basically, check out my 2008 Books list and my 2008 Goals list.

In a week, it’s time to vote in the primary! I better do some more research so I know who I’m voting for! Only one more year of Bushy!

Uggggh. One more year of Bushy….

Harlan Ellison

I’m not so sure I should be giving Harlan Ellison more publicity and attention by even mentioning his name, nor do I want to seem obsessed with him, but I did run across this blog entry that I think is good.

The Pirate Party — Arrrr!

I’m not sure of my opinions on the issue of copyright. Though I do think things should go into the public domain faster than they are currently. I’d want to see more details about their exact stance on the matter, but The Pirate Party sounds interesting, at the very least. And, well, who wouldn’t want to declare themselves not a Republican, not a Democrat, not even Independent, but a Pirate?

Arrrrr!

Totemo Kowai

If you’re into conspiracies, here’s one for you. God’s Next Army. It was a UK program that aired a month ago (or perhaps it was a couple years ago, the website doesn’t give a year), but the article describes it. There’s further articles there which seem to pin the year as 2003.

I think maybe the UK fears us as the US fears the Middle East. And for many of the same reasons.
