And another thing - 12:41PM, 2003/03/24

If you are going to go around breaking the rules of a game, and then are so much of a dumbass as to post this fact in a public forum, please do not be surprised when the admins call for an investigation and then chop off your head.

Thank you.

Nostalgia - 12:37PM, 2003/03/24

Actually, I did know about the WA contingent. Using my superpowers, and the fact that for some reason all of the group registration emails were being sent to me and not to the people who actually wanted them…

I was all nostalgic hearing about the Kenshin drawings in the steam tunnels, so I went and poked around on the Wellesley website. Early registration for Reunion is until May 1st. Gah. It can not have been 5 years already. That’s just wrong. We’ll have moved by then, so I’ll be staying over at the school for the weekend. It’s just tempting fate; I would kill to be an undergraduate again. This time I would do it right!

Presently, I am expected to figure out what, exactly, I am going to do for a Masters project and who, exactly, I am going to do it with. These are not easy questions to answer, because, you see, I have no freaking clue. One might think that after spending two years drifting around as a Masters student I would have these answers, but I do not. It makes me sad. It may also get me into trouble, so I need to alter this situation quickly. On the other hand, the course my advisor was trying to pimp to me does not appear to have materalized on the schedule, so I may not have to go to school in the summer at all… the thought of working and no homework sounds like a lovely lovely vacation.

However, I will be in better shape once the former issue is resolved, even if I don’t actually do anything concrete until next fall.

I’m far too tired lately to have even a semi-coherent opinion about world events. The extent of my thoughts: Biidh.

Also, yay for Spirited Away! I still can’t wait for the DVD to be out.

Two things - 5:03AM, 2003/03/17

So I’ve been thinking about a lot of things, but I’m not sure as I want to write about them.

Earlier tonight, though, I was watching the new Children of Dune miniseries, and several things occurred to me:

1. After the original miniseries was on, I resolved to read the books. It’s been 2 years and I still have not done this. Why?
Answer: I am a lazyass reader who would rather re-read books 5 or 6 times than risk starting a book that may bore me or make me start to like characters who later die or have otherwise unsatisfactory ends. Because once I start, I have a compulsion to finish.

2. As Jen noticed, the new Lady Jessica is the Borg Queen. This is not, however, why she looked so damn familiar to me when she appeared on screen. I realized only later that she and Lady Oscar are long lost twins.

Vacation! - 2:01AM, 2003/03/16

Now we know how people lost weight on weight watchers in the 70s. They were turned off of food forever.

In more pleasant news, I am on vacation! A whole week, where all I need to do is go to work on 2 days. Everyone cheer with me.

Kristin-sama also wrote chapters 5 and 6 of her lovely fic for which I am ever grateful. As there was much kissing, though no actual smut, sadly.

I haven’t really had anything interesting happen that bears writing about. This week I had a test every day, and on Thursday I had two. It was a very long week. The week before was also stressful, as I had several things due which I had naturally put off until the absolute last minute. I don’t know why I find it so impossible to motivate myself to do things until there’s no margin for error left. I usually do seem to finish and do them all right, but it’s not… fun. I think about them constantly until the project is underway, which means I don’t really enjoy the time where I’m slacking off.

House Update - 8:38AM, 2003/03/05

News on the house front is good! I’ll get some pictures eventually and put them up for people to peruse. We’re still in the process of sending papers to the mortgage company… of course, if Okina had saved little by little instead of doing his usual huge payment scheme, we probably wouldn’t have to send them still more bank statements. It’s such a pain.
