A real post

A quiz shouldn’t count as a real post, so here’s something to make up for it.

One of my bad habits is to get halfway through a project and then not follow through. It may be something I picked up from my father, who often did things like that, much to my mother’s chagrin. For me, there are a lot of reasons behind this, and they vary depending on the nature of the project — for instance, books or series which I like, I will often stop reading or watching before the end out of reluctance to let the experience be over. It’s always a depressing moment to come to the end and face the knowledge that there is no more. The characters you liked are done, and there is no more story. Another reason is that when you finish one project, it’s time to move on to another — and the hardest part of a project is the getting started; once you’re in the rhythm, it’s easy and comfortable to continue. If it ends, you’re back once again to the hard part.

So this weekend, I am going to try and complete several things which are currently hanging at loose ends. I have such a large number of them that I’m not going to pick anything in particular other than the logs which I have sitting around for the game. Those are number one on the list. That and four other things, I want to have done by Monday when we go to see Spiderman with E and Carl.
