The new covers appeal to me more than the old ones, I will say that. Which might color the reading experience a bit.

I'm not in-love with that cover, but it certainly comes closer to catching the essence of the book that people are reading it for.

(I mean, what's up with that wizard doing tricks for some Pilgrim women?)

Lethe Press has/is rereleasing some of these Point books. Which says to me that there's more gay content in the later ones, and that perhaps the writing also improves. I won't hold my breath on the last part, but the first part may make it worth it.

I've had trouble reading other Melissa Scott books even though they keep coming up on lists or in discussions. I have tried Trouble and Her Friends and Shadowman, I think probably without finishing either, not sure. I own more. And it looks like she also wrote a ST VOY tie-in. That may be easier to read, but also less likely to have any quiltbag content.

Heh, Amazon tells me I have also bought her nonfiction book on writing. Nearly 12 years ago. (Srsly? Amazon was around 12 years ago?! I'm old.)

Okay, so while trying to see if I could find a better image of the cover of this book, I discovered that not only was it a television series, but it was the first original television series that the Sci-Fi (Syfy) Channel made? Well, that's pretty cool. And while I'm sure it's not anything worth writing home about, I admit to a certain curiosity now.

Should anyone else be curious, here's the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deepwater_Black" rel="nofollow">Wikipedia entry</a>

There's good/interesting romance, and then there's annoying teenage romance. I don't quite know what differentiates the two, but I know it when I see it.
